2/26/08 Terror on the horizon
The shooting for Terror at 2728 has finally wrapped! There is a couple pick-up scenes that are optional to shoot at this point, after editing and reviewing the film i'll decide whether to shoot them or not. But either way im into post production so its finally all coming together. My sound man Herman is getting ready to do all of the post-audio work on the movie. Because of the open ended-ness and conceptural nature of the project, he's decided to make it his thesis project for the final year of his masters degree - Herman has done some great work and i'm excited to work with him. It's official, the house set was demo-ed on Monday. Shooting wrapped up just in time, we finished the last scene there on Saturday. Everythings been real crazy between work and starting school so the movie has been sitting on the back-burner but lots of exciting stuff has been going on. I'm collaborating with an excellent composer/multi-instrumentalist from the Netherlands, Herman Witkam, to produce an original score and get the sound design polished. He has some fantastic work and I think he shares a vision for the mood of the movie. Post production should finish this winter so it will be ready for festivals next year. I think it's going to be a 30 minute short or so, but im going to try to cut it as close to 20 as possible. short and sweet. staay tuned,
Rob 5/21/07 Back with the monthly update. We're keeping on with the shoots, August is coming fast so we're all busting ass to get this thing done but everythings coming out excellent so far. i'll release a trailer sooner or later so stick around. I put some pictures up from the last month of shooting, check it.
Rob 4/29/07 Had our first successful shoot! I decided to drop the 8mm and just shoot digital for a number of reasons, mostly time and money... don't have much of either right now. we've got so much more freedom now too, so everyones real excited to start working on it. I present the first screenshot from last night:
Rob 4/9/07 Well I can't say the first shoot was a total disaster... Lost my lead actor the day of the shoot due to personal reasons, so i'm on the lookout for someone dedicated to fill the role. Bummer. But i've got a couple people lined up and this should only set back production a couple weeks. Still, the shoot went on - had Max fill in so we could test out the film stock and everything else went just excellent... I'll be documenting the production of this movie over the next few months so the updates will keep coming. until next time, Rob
3/26/07 Shooting begins in 2 weeks! Work continues on the movie set and I couldn't be more excited... everything is looking excellent. I've finished the major changes to the house itself so all thats left is finishing up the set design. I'll be adding updates as it progresses to generate some interest since i've kept the project in the dark until late. But I will say it's a short horror shot in black and white super 8mm.
